On October 21, in front of the APDE Campoalegre school, the mayor of Guatemala City, Ricardo Quiñónez, inaugurated an overpass named after Dr. Ernesto Cofiño.

APDE Campoalegre, the first school for women founded by the Association for Educational Development (APDE), has contributed during the past 51 years to the education of two thousand women. During these years, it has witnessed the development of the southern section of the city, of which the new overpass, which improves the flow of traffic towards the city center, is the last link.

Ernesto Cofiño was part of the group of parents who, inspired by the teachings of St. Josemaría, undertook the educational project that led to the founding of APDE in 1970. It was in his house that the founding document was signed.
