Ordination of 29 Priests of the Prelature
Paul Toshihiro Sakai, Auxiliary Bishop of Osaka-Takamatsu (Japan), conferred priestly ordination on 29 deacons of the Prelature of Opus Dei on May 25. The ceremony took place in the Roman Basilica of St. Eugene, which was filled with family members and friends of the new priests.
In his homily, Bishop Sakai wished “God’s richest blessings on Opus Dei, the spiritual family that has nourished these 29 people up to this moment, and also on each one of you, parents, relatives and friends.” He ended by expressing his hope that “all of us, united with the Pope, will go to Jesus through Mary. Our Lady invites us, as in her Annunciation, to ask with humility the questions that lead to the light, in order to always end with the obedience of faith.”
