A Relic in Neiva (Colombia)
In the city of Neiva, capital of the department of Huila, the La Fragua school, part of the Aspaen group, has been under the protection of St. Josemaría and Blessed Carlo Acutis since December 11, 2024. On that day, during a Mass concelebrated by Fr. Omar Benitez, a priest of the Opus Dei Prelature, and six priests of the diocese, two ex capillis relics (that is, parts of the hair) of St. Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer and of Blessed (soon to be Saint) Carlo Acutis were placed in the school's oratory: the first, donated by the prelate of Opus Dei; the second, by the bishop emeritus of Neiva, Monsignor Froilán Casas Ortiz, a few months before leaving his position. In addition to the teachers and students, the ceremony was attended by numerous families and friends.
