Tomás and Paquita Alvira Domínguez, at the Santità di Coppia Congress (Trinità dei Monti Monumental Complex, Rome), October 17-19, 2025
On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the canonization of Louis and Zélie Martin, parents of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, the Emmanuel Community, which currently serves the Roman church of Trinità dei Monti, has organized a symposium on conjugal holiness. A dozen examples of families who have recently lived heroic holiness were presented, some already recognized by the Church, others not yet. France, Austria, Poland, Rwanda, Spain, Italy, Belgium, and Japan are the countries of origin of these persons and families.
Fr. Francesco Russo, director of the Prelature’s Office for the Causes of Saints, spoke about Tomás and Paquita Alvira Domínguez, supernumeraries of Opus Dei. Fr. Francesco, who during those day, as he mentioned in his address, was helping the relators of the competent dicastery to prepare the positiones for Tomás Alvira and his wife, Paquita Domínguez, explained how both of them, with God’s grace, put into practice the spirit of Opus Dei, focused on becoming aware of the call to holiness in ordinary life and, in particular, in their daily work.
