The Holy Father Leo XIV received the Prelate of Opus Dei, Monsignor Fernando Ocáriz, in audience on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. It was a brief meeting, in which the Pope expressed his closeness and affection. The Prelate was accompanied by his auxiliary vicar, Monsignor Mariano Fazio.

Among other topics, the Holy Father inquired about the current study of the Statutes of Opus Dei and listened with great interest to the explanations given to him. At the end of the audience, he referred to the Marian feasts that were celebrated on the day of his election. In a family atmosphere of trust, Leo XIV gave the Prelate and the auxiliary vicar his paternal blessing.
