Zaragoza, Spain (March 26-29, 2025)
The Prelate of Opus Dei traveled to Zaragoza at the end of March to participate in events commemorating the centenary of St. Josemaría's ordination and to meet with faithful of Opus Dei in the Aragon region.
On the day of his arrival, March 26, he met with some young people who take part in Christian formation activities at Opus Dei centers in Zaragoza. The following day, Thursday, March 27, he gave a meditation to a group of members of the prelature early in the morning. He then participated in an academic conference held at the Casa de la Iglesia, near the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar.[1]
On the 28th, in the church of the Seminary of San Carlos, where exactly one hundred years earlier St. Josemaría had been ordained a priest, he presided at a Mass concelebrated by nearly two hundred priests. In his homily, he recalled St. Josemaría's invitation to seek, find, and love Christ in prayer and in the Eucharist. After Mass, he went to the chapel of Our Lady in the Basilica of the Pillar, where he offered 100 roses in thanksgiving for the centenary of the founder of Opus Dei’s priesthood and said a brief prayer aloud to Mary asking for the health and intentions of Pope Francis and for the needs of the Church and the world. That same afternoon, more than 1,400 people gathered with the Prelate at the Zaragoza Conference Center. The event, with a warm and family tone, combined music, testimonies, and questions from families, young people, and priests.
On the 29th, he returned to Rome.
