During the month of August, Msgr. Fazio visited Ivory Coast and Cameroon. He met with many faithful of Opus Dei, cooperators and friends in Abidjan, Yaoundé and Douala.

In October he participated in a meeting of intellectuals, organized at the El Soto conference center on the outskirts of Madrid, on the presence of Catholics in public life.

That same month he was in São Paulo, Brazil, where he spoke about the social legacy of St. Josemaría in Latin America, as part of the second international meeting Be Do Care. The result of that conference was the publication of the book Ciudadanía. San Josemaría y el bien común, published by Palabra in Spanish and by Cultor de Livros in Portuguese.
