Founder’s Week at the Universidad Panamericana (Mexico)

With the aim of honoring its roots and rekindling the spirit that gave rise to it, the Universidad Panamericana organized Founder’s Week for the first time, a week dedicated to celebrating the figure and legacy of St. Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer, the inspiration behind the founding of the UP.

During the first week of October, activities related to St. Josemaría were held on all the University’s campuses in different cities across Mexico. These included photo galleries, video screenings, talks about his life, promotion of his writings, etc. As part of the events, Eucharistic adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Masses of thanksgiving around October 2, the date of the founding of Opus Dei, were also held.

As Antonio Castro, director of the Mexico City campus, said at one of the events for Founder’s Week: “Remembering where we come from inspires us to move forward, but not in just any direction. It helps us greatly not to lose our way.”
