During November, a seminar entitled “A Culture of Caring” was held in the Portuguese cities of Lisbon and Oporto. More than 100 people, mostly mothers, took part in conferences and workshops dealing with Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato si’, and his Bull convoking the Year of Mercy. The focus was on the need to foster an integral ecology, and specific ways to practice mercy in one’s family and at work. In Oporto, one session included testimony from a volunteer from the Platform of Assistance to the Refugees in Portugal.
